Miriam Karlin OBE is a British actress. Born Miriam Samuels in Hampstead, North London, she was brought up as an Orthodox Jew; members of her family were among those who later died at the Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz. She was the daughter of Celine and Harry Samuels Karlin, who wrote books about trade unions. Her film roles include parts in A Clockwork Orange and The Millionairess. She also starred with Topol in Fiddler on the Roof.
