Operating under various names since the 1980s, The 2011 Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Film Festival is scheduled for April 14 - May 5, and will include slate of 170+ films from over 50 countries. The festival is organized by The Film Society of Minneapolis-St. Paul, a group that operates out of the St. Anthony Main Theatre. Several other area theaters also participate in the film festival. Because of the cultural heritage of Minnesota, a significant number of Scandinavian films are usually included. Locally-produced material is also highlighted through a series called Minnesota Made.
