In the United Kingdom government, the Minister for the Arts is a ministerial post, usually at junior or Minister of State level. The post has been in a variety of ministries, but after 1997 it has been a Minister of State position in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. From 1992 to 1997, the post was combined with the office of Secretary of State for National Heritage.
