- Mike Sacks is an American author, humor writer and magazine editor in New York. Born in Virginia and raised in Maryland, he is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans. Sacks has worked at The Washington Post, and is currently on the editorial staff of Vanity Fair magazine. His work has been published in Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Esquire magazine, GQ, Time magazine, Time Out New York, Vice magazine, McSweeney's,, Believer, Radar, Premiere magazine, New York Observer, Maxim magazine, Women's Health, Heeb, MAD magazine, and Salon. com. His book, And Here's the Kicker: Conversations with 21 Top Humor Writers, was published by Writer's Digest Books in July 2009. Those interviewed include: Buck Henry, Stephen Merchant, Harold Ramis, Dan Mazer, Merrill Markoe, George Meyer, Larry Gelbart, Irving Brecher, Bob Odenkirk, Marshall Brickman, David Sedaris, Allison Silverman, and Jack Handey. Sacks sold a humor book to Broadway Books for a reported six figure sum, scheduled for release in the summer of 2010. The book, a parody of a sex manual, will be co-written with Scott Jacobson (Daily Show), Todd Levin (Tonight Show), Jason Roeder (Onion), and Ted Travelstead (Esquire).
