Mid Calder is a small town in West Lothian, Scotland. Those who dwell there say "the village" to speak of the oldest part of the thorp, perched on a steep hill overlooking the River Almond and Calder Wood. The town has been on major crossroads since its origin sometime in the eleventh century. It lies fifteen miles west of Edinburgh.
