Microsoft Anna is the default text-to-speech voice used in Windows Vista and Windows 7. She is the replacement for Microsoft Sam, which was the default voice in Windows XP and Windows 2000. Microsoft Anna is a female voice and is designed to sound more natural than Microsoft Sam, although she is much more unsteady. She is driven by the SAPI 5 TTS engine.
