Saint Michael de Sanctis, sometimes called Michael of the Saints was a Discalced Trinitarian priest from Vic, Catalonia. Born Miguel Argemir, at the age of tweleve, Michael de Sanctis came to Barcelona and asked to be received into the monastery of the Trinitarians there. After a three year novitiate, he took his vows at that order's monastery of St. Lambert in Saragossa September 5, 1607.

After a three year novitiate, he took his vows at that order's monastery of St. Lambert in Saragossa September 5, 1607. After meeting a Discalced Trinitarian one day, he felt drawn to that congregation's more austere lifestyle and, after much deliberation and the permission of his superior, he entered the congregation of the Discalced Trinitarians at Madrid as a novice. He then took his vows at Alcalá, became a priest, and was twice elected superior of the monastery at Valladolid, where he died. During his life, Michael de Sanctis led a life of prayer and mortification. He was devout towards the Holy Eucharist, and is said to have been experienced ecstasies several times during Consecration. Michael De Sanctis was beatified by Pope Pius VI on May 24, 1779 and later canonizedby Pope Pius IX on June 8, 1862. His feast day is celebrated on July 5. In images, he is usually depicted kneeling before an altar where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed.

Nascut com a Miguel Argemir a Vic, al carrer de Sant Hipòlit, va anar a Barcelona als dotze anys, on va demanar d'ingressar al monestir de l'orde dels trinitaris. Després de tres anys de noviciat, prengué els vots al monestir de San Lamberto, a Saragossa, el 5 de setembre de 1607. La trobada amb un trinitari descalç va fer-li palesa la major austeritat d'aquesta branca de l'orde i, amb el permís del seu superior, el 1608 va entrar a la congregació dels trinitaris descalços d'Oteiza (Navarra) i a Madrid com a novici. Prengué els vots a Alcalá de Henares, va ser ordenat sacerdot. Va estudiar a Alcalá, Baeza i Salamanca i va ser superior del monestir de l'orde a Valladolid el 1622 i 1623, on morí. Miguel Argemir (bo tak brzmiało jego hiszpańskie imię i nazwisko) był synem Enrico Argemíra i Margaret Monserrady. Od 1603 roku przebywał w klasztorze Zakonu Trójcy Przenajświętszej w Barcelonie. Śluby zakonne złożył w klasztorze św. Lamberta w Saragossie, gdzie przebywał w latach 1606-1607, u trynitarzy trzewiczkowych. Po przejściu do trynitarzy bosych powtórnie odbył nowicjat i powtórną profesję złożył w styczniu 1609 roku w Alcali. Przebywał kolejno w La Sonanie, Salamance i Baezie, a po ukończeniu studiów teologicznych został kaznodzieją i nauczycielem. W 1622 wybrany został na przełożonego klasztoru w Valladolid. Zapamiętany został z poświęcenia uczynkom miłości. Napisał traktat Breve tratado de la tranquilidad del alma i pozostawił po sobie także listy. Beatyfikowany został 24 maja 1779 przez papieża Piusa VI, a kanonizowany 8 czerwca 1862 przez papieża Piusa IX. Jego wspomnienie obchodzone jest 10 kwietnia.
