- Michael Haussman is a celebrated American music video, motion picture and television advertisement director, writer and producer. He currently lives in Rome, Italy. His internationally acclaimed commercials have won numerous awards and are featured in advertising books and trade journals. They include campaigns for Levi's, Adidas, Ray-Ban, Guinness, Dockers, Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Yves Saint Laurent, and Volkswagen. Michael has just finished a major campaign for Martini with George Clooney, as well as a campaign for Elizabeth Arden with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Suzuki with Cristiano Ronaldo. Haussman has directed music videos for such artists as Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Eric Clapton, among others. The videos he directed have won several MTV awards around the world. Haussman wrote and directed the experimental film, Rhinoceros in Budapest, which premiered at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. In 2003 he completed a feature-length documentary about two matadors at the world of bullfighting, entitled The Last Serious Thing, soon to premiere on the Documentary Channel. Michael completed print campaigns for Philips, Replay Jeans, Lancôme, and most recently the worldwide 2006 print and billboard campaign for Martini. He also wrote Where They Play, a book documenting soccer fields from around the world, revealing each culture's interpretation of a field within their environment. His solo art show Naturales, featuring large-scale matador paintings, in ink on paper, was exhibited at the Desoto gallery in Los Angeles, California between November 15, 2005 and January 5, 2006. It is now included in the New York Scope Art Fair 2006. Currently Haussman is in pre-production to direct a film he wrote and is producing entitled A Moment of Bliss, set in Seville, Spain.
