- In Bratislava, Slovakia, Michael's Gate is the only gate that has been preserved of the medieval fortifications and ranks among the oldest town buildings. Built about the year 1300, its present shape is the result of baroque reconstructions in 1758, when the statue of St. Michael and the Dragon was placed on its top. The tower houses the Exhibition of Weapons of Bratislava City Museum. In the medieval times the town was surrounded by fortified walls, and entry and exit was only possible through one of the four heavily fortified gates. On the east side of the town, it was the Laurinc Gate, named after Saint Lawrence, in the south it was the Fishermen's Gate (Halász kapu), (Rybná brána). This was the smallest gate of the four, used mainly by the fishermen entering the city with fish caught in the river Danube. On the west side it was the Vydrica Gate (Vödric kapu), (Vydrická brána), also called the Dark Gate or Black Gate, since it was like a tunnel—dark and long. In the north, there was St. Michael's Gate named after St. Michael and the St. Michael church that stood in front of it (outside the town wall). Later on it was put down and materials gained from it were used in the building of additional town walls. Today under the Michael's gate are luxury shops and restaurants such as Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Dolce & Gabbana, Ed Hardy, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Clain, Gucci, Versace, Prada, Swarowski, Tiffany's, Bvlgari and many others. This street is one of the most expensive streets in Central Europe.
- Das Michaelertor (auch „Michaelertorturm“; slowakisch Michalská brána, ungarisch Mihálykapu) ist das einzige erhalten gebliebene Tor der mittelalterlichen Stadtbefestigung von Bratislava und gehört zu den ältesten Gebäuden der Stadt. Seinen Namen erhielt das Tor von der nicht mehr existierenden Michaelskirche, die sich außerhalb der Stadtmauern befand. Im 51 Meter hohen Turm befindet sich heute die Waffenausstellung des Städtischen Museums Bratislava. Die Geschichte des Michaelertors reicht bis ins späte 13. Jahrhundert zurück, die älteste urkundliche Erwähnung stammt aus dem Jahr 1411. Von 1563 bis 1830, als Bratislava Krönungsstadt des Königreichs Ungarn war, mussten die Monarchen von der Burg Bratislava aus einen vorgeschriebenen Weg durch die Stadt abschreiten. Dieser führte vom Vydrica-Tor zum Martinsdom (der Krönungskirche) und anschließend durch das Michaelertor, wo der neu gekrönte König vor dem Erzbischof einen Treueschwur ablegte. Von 1753 bis 1758 wurde der Turm in seiner heute bestehenden barocken Form neu errichtet. Damals wurde auch eine Statue des Erzengels Michael auf die Turmspitze gehoben. Im sechsten Stockwerk befindet sich eine Aussichtsplattform.
- Michalská brána je bývalá brána bratislavského městského opevnění, nacházející se na Starém Městě. Je též jediným zbytkem tohoto původního opevnění. Svoje jméno dostala po kostelu sv. Michala, který stával nedaleko na předměstí. Postavena byla koncem 14. století. V minulosti měla padací most, padací mříž a silná dřevěná vrata. Horní osmiboká část věže byla postavena v letech 1511 – 1517. Na konci 16. století měla střecha měděnou cibuli. Dnešní podobu získala roku 1758. Dnes je tady moderní bulvár v Bratislavě kde se nachzejí najluxusnejší restaurace, bary a obchody světových značek jako Dolce&Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Gianny Versace, Edc, Esprit, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Mikloshko, Ed Hardy anebo predaj luxusných šperkú značek Tiffany, Bvlgari,5th Avanue aneb Swarowski. Každý turista který Bratislavu navštíví by se tady mnel alespoň projít. Na méne luxusní nákupi múžete zajít do obchodních center Avion Shopping Palace, Aupark Bratislava Shopping Center, Yosaria Plaza, Polus City Center anebo uz o chvíli i do najmodernejsí bulvární části v strednej Evropě do obchodno zabavnýho komplexu: Eurovea,aneb na nědalekou Obchodní ulici která Vám poúka konkurenčné obchody: KFC, McDonald's, NewYorker, Deichmann, Bata, Takko a rúzné iné levnejši obchody. Městské muzeum tu zřídilo expozici historických zbraní. Z ochozu je pěkný výhled na Hrad a Staré město.
- Mikaelin portti on viimeinen portti, joka on jäänyt jäljelle Bratislavan keskiaikaisista linnoituksista. Se on myös kaupungin vanhimpia rakennuksia. Portti rakennettiin noin vuonna 1300, mutta sen nykyinen barokkityylinen ulkoasu on peräisin vuodelta 1758. Portin tornissa sijaitsee kaupunginmuseon asemuseo.
- Brama Michalska – jedyna zachowana brama miejska w Bratysławie. Obecnie pomalowana jest na biały kolor; posiada strzelistą 51-metrową wieżę z czterema tarczami zegarowymi i cebulastym hełmem; na szczycie znajduje się XVIII-wieczna rzeźba Michała Archanioła.
