Merchant Taylors' School (MTS) is a British independent day school for boys, originally located in the City of London. Since 1933 it has been located at Sandy Lodge in the Three Rivers district of Hertfordshire (but within the Northwood post town). Founded in 1561 by Sir Thomas White and Sir Richard Hilles, the School is one of the original nine English Public Schools as defined by the Public Schools Act 1868. Today the School caters for approximately 860 students between the ages of 11 and 18.
