- Mazzorbo is an island in the northern Venetian Lagoon, linked to Burano by a bridge. It was once an important trading centre but is now known for its vineyards and orchards. Its main attraction is the fourteenth century Church of Santa Caterina, and there is also a brightly painted housing development, designed in 1979 by Giancarlo De Carlo.
- Mazzorbo ist eine Insel in der Lagune von Venedig, die unmittelbar neben der Insel Burano liegt. Mit dieser ist sie durch eine einfache Holzbrücke verbunden. Von Venedig kommend fährt man in den Mazzorbokanal ein, der Mazzorbo von Mazorbetto trennt. Der Name Mazzorbo leitet sich vom lateinischen "Maiurbium" ab, das größere Stadt bedeutet und auf die frühere Wichtigkeit dieser Insel hinweist. Vor allem war sie Zufluchtsort für Bewohner von Altino, die in die Lagune geflüchtet waren. Zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt (2006) zählt Mazzorbo nur einige Hundert Einwohner, die teils in Burano (Tourismus) arbeiten, teils nach Murano oder Venedig auspendeln. Wie auf den anderen Laguneninseln San Erasmo oder Vignole, wird auch auf Mazzorbo Gemüse gezogen, bzw. ein wenig Weinbau betrieben. Mazzorbo ist von Venedig aus mit öffentlichem Verkehrsmittel (Linie 12) erreichbar. Neben einigen Häusern aus dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert ist noch die Kirche Santa Caterina aus dem 14. Jahrhundert erwähnenswert, in deren Campanile die älteste Glocke der Lagune (1318) hängt.

Egykor fontos kereskedelmi központ volt, ma azonban a lagúna néhány más szigetéhez (San Erasmo, Vignole) hasonlóan inkább csak gyümölcsös- és szőlőskertjei jelentősek. Lakói részben Buranóba járnak át dolgozni, mások Muranóba vagy Velencébe ingáznak. A szigetet 60 m hosszú, fa gyalogoshíd köti össze Buranóval. A Szent Katalin templom viharvert homlokzatának részlete Néhány XVI. és XVII. századi lakóháza mellett legfontosabb látnivalója a XIV. századi Szent Katalin templom (Chiesa di Santa Caterina), amelyben a velencei lagúna legöregebb harangja (1318) működik. A templom eredetileg a VIII. században épült, majd később egy benedekrendi kolostor részét alkotta. A XIV. században román és gótikus elemek felhasználásával átalakították. Megkopott márványpadlója 1580-ból származik. Az egyhajós templom hajógerinc szerkezetű, fa mennyezetét színes festmények díszítik. Az elmúlt két évszázadban végzett tatarozások ellenére a templom ma meglehetősen rossz állapotban van. Az újabb épületek közül az 1979-ben Giancarlo De Carlo által tervezett, 1979 és 1986 között épült, buranói stílusban élénk színűre festett házakból álló, kis lakótelep érdemes említésre. A Velencéből érkező hajók a Mazzorbo és a kisebb Mazzorbetto közötti Mazzorbo-csatornán keresztül érkezek a szigetre. A Velence – Murano – Burano – Treporti járatnak megállója van Mazzorbón is, a sziget Velencéből bő félórás hajóúttal érhető el.

A sua maior atracção é a Igreja de Santa Catarina, do século XIV, e um conjunto de casas coloridas, desenhado em 1979 por Giancarlo De Carlo.
