Matt Malley is an American songwriter and musician. He is best known for being a founding member and long time bass guitar player for the rock band Counting Crows. In December 2004, following the band's Hard Candy tour, Malley left the group. He has been practising Sahaja Yoga Meditation since 1987. On March 23rd, 2009, Matt's first solo record which is titled, "The Goddess Within", was released on Voiceprint records. US release date was May 5th, 2009.
