Yhtye hajosi jälleen vuonna 1991, kunnes Lee ja Rozz vuonna 1996 julkaisivat Massacren nimellä yhtyeen viimeiseksi jääneen albumin Promise. Pian julkaisun ja sitä seuranneen murskakritiikin jälkeen yhtyeen toiminta lakkasi kokonaan. Basisti Terry Butler soittaa nykyään Six Feet Under -yhtyeessä ja kitaristi Allen West vuonna 2003 comebackin tehneessä Obituaryssä.

Ils se sont séparés et reformés à plusieurs reprises. Après l'une des séparations, Rick, Terry et Bill rejoignirent le groupe Death. Le groupe réalisa leur premier album From Beyond en 1991, suivi une année plus tard d'un EP où figure Cronos de Venom. Par la suite, le groupe s'est séparé à nouveau. Lee and Rozz ont reformé le groupe en 1996 et réalisé l'album Promise, qui fut mal reçu. Cela conduisit finalement à une séparation peu après la sortie de cet album. Kam Lee rescussite le groupe en 2007. Le line-up regroupe se compose alors de trois membres de son autre formation, Denial Fiend, ainsi que du guitariste Steve Swanson. Les deux groupes tourneront ensemble à l'automne. Bien que Kam Lee ait annoncé au début de l'été 2008 sa volonté de démanteler le groupe pour ne plus se concentrer que sur Denial Fiend, Massacre donnera tout de même un concert lors du Wacken Open Air, une des dernières prestations du groupe.
