Marvin Lee Minsky (born August 9, 1927) is an American cognitive scientist in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), co-founder of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's AI laboratory, and author of several texts on AI and philosophy.

Er gilt als Erfinder des später im Konfokalmikroskop realisierten Messprinzips (1957). Weitere Erfindungen sind mechanische Hände und andere Teile für Roboter, der Muse-Synthesizer für musikalische Variationen gemeinsam mit Edward Fredkin und die erste Logo-Schildkröte gemeinsam mit Seymour Papert. 1951 baute er mit Dean Edmonds SNARC (Stochastic Neural Analog Reinforcement Calculator), einen neuronalen Netzcomputer, der das Verhalten einer Maus in einem Labyrinth simulierte.
