- The Martinican Independence Movement or MIM (Mouvement Indépendantiste Martiniquais in French, Mouvman endépandantis matinitjé in Martinican creole) is a left-wing political party in the overseas department of Martinique, founded July 1, 1978 by Alfred Marie-Jeanne with the aim of securing "the decolonization and independence of Martinique". Its secretary is the deputy and president of the Regional Council of Martinique. It has one seat in the French National Assembly. In 1973, Alfred Marie-Jeanne, along with Garcin Malsa, Lucien Veilleur, and Marc Pulvar, founded an organization called "La Parole au Peuple" (Word of the People), which in 1978 became the Martinican Independence Movement. The MIM is, following the French regional elections of 2004, the majority party in the regional council. Its elected representatives are Alfred Marie-Jeanne, Daniel Marie-Sainte, Lucien Veilleur, Vincent Duville, Lucien Adenet, Jean-Philippe Nilor, Sylvain Bolinois, Francine Carius, Jean-Claude Soumbo, Raymonde Téreau, Georges Buisson, Marianne Malsa, Marcel Thelcide, Michel Michalon, Lise N'Guéla, Mady Ericher, Marie-Claude Cléry, Gisèle Aribo, Alain Rapon, Laurence Gracienne, Sandrine Saint-Aimé, Yolande Philémont-Montout, Marie-Line Lesdéma, and Aurélie Dalmat. The party also counts among its members two general councillors, Lucien Adenet and Jean-Philippe Nilor, and the mayor of Rivière-Pilote, Lucien Veilleur. In the municipal and cantonal elections in March of 2008, the MIM presented 17 at-large candidates. For the first time in its history its candidates received significant support and four were elected mayors: In Rivière-Salée, Vincent Duville received 2829 votes, 46.05% In Sainte-Luce, Jean-Philippe Nilor received 2374 votes, 46.63% In Saint Esprit, Georges Buisson received 1619 votes, 34.87% In Trois-Ilets, Lise N'Guéla received 1295 votes, 42.73% The MIM publishes a journal, La Parole au Peuple, and operates a radio station, R.D.L.M. (Radio Lévé Doubout Matinik).
- El Moviment Independentista Martiniquès (Mouvement Independentiste Martiniquais, MIM) és un partit polític fundat el 1978 i dirigit per Alfred-Marie Jeanne, partidaris de la independència de Martinica. Antigament eren aliats en l’Aliança Revolucionària Caribenya (ARC) a grups similars de Guadeloupe i la Guaiana Francesa. Darrerament han substituït la radicalitat i el suport a la lluita armada per la participació en les eleccions en coalicions amb el PPM, com a Patriotes Martiniquais. És l'únic grup independentista francoantillà que té una presència institucional activa.

Son premier secrétaire est le député et président du conseil régional Alfred Marie-Jeanne. Le Comité national composé de 22 membres est l'organe décisionnel du MIM. En 1973, Alfred Marie-Jeanne avec quelques compagnons, Garcin Malsa, Lucien Veilleur et Marc Pulvar fondent le mouvement "La Parole au Peuple" qui deviendra en 1978, le Mouvement Indépendantiste Martiniquais. Le MIM est depuis les élections régionales de 2004, le parti majoritaire au conseil régional. Les élus du MIM à la Région sont Alfred Marie-Jeanne, Daniel Marie-Sainte, Lucien Veilleur, Vincent Duville, Lucien Adenet, Jean-Philippe Nilor, Sylvain Bolinois, Francine Carius, Jean-Claude Soumbo, Raymonde Téreau, Georges Buisson, Marianne Malsa, Marcel Thelcide, Michel Michalon, Lise N'Guéla, Mady Ericher, Marie-Claude Cléry, Gisèle Aribo, Alain Rapon, Laurence Gracienne, Sandrine Saint-Aimé, Yolande Philémont-Montout, Marie-Line Lesdéma, et Aurélie Dalmat. Ce parti compte également deux conseillers généraux (Lucien Adenet et Jean-Philippe Nilor) et un maire (Lucien Veilleur, maire de Rivière-Pilote). Lors des élections municipales et cantonales de mars 2008, le MIM présente 17 candidats sur toute la Martinique. Pour la première fois de son histoire, ces candidats réalisent des scores honorables aux municipales en mettant en ballotage 4 maires sortants : À Rivière-Salée, Vincent Duville réalise 2829 voix, 46,05 % À Sainte-Luce, Jean-Philippe Nilor réalise 2374 voix, 46,63 % Au Saint Esprit, Georges Buisson réalise 1619 voix, 34,87 % Aux Trois-Ilets, Lise N'Guéla réalise 1295 voix, 42,73 % Depuis les élections municipales des 9 et 16 mars 2008, l'alliance des patriotes MIM/CNCP a 44 conseillers municipaux d'opposition dans 13 communes de la Martinique : Fort de France: 2 (MIM/CNCP/Palima); Le Lamentin: 4 (MIM/CNCP/PCM); Sainte-Luce: 6; Le François: 5; Rivière-Salée: 7; Saint-Esprit: 5; Les Trois-Ilets: 6; Trinité: 3; Le Vauclin: 2; Le Robert: 1; Le Morne-Rouge: 1; Le Marin: 1; Gros-Morne: 1 Le journal du MIM à pour nom La parole au Peuple et sa radio R.L.D. M (Radio Lévé Doubout Matinik).
- Ruch na rzecz Niepodległości Martyniki (kreol. Mouvman Endépandantis Matinitjé, fr. Mouvement indépendantiste martiniquais, MIM) - partia działająca na rzecz "dekolonizacji i niepodległości Martyniki" utworzona 1 lipca 1978 na bazie działającego od 1973 roku ruchu La Parole au Peuple. Założycielem i liderem partii jest Alfred Marie-Jeanne. Od wyborów regionalnych we Francji w 2004 roku Ruch na Rzecz Niepodległości Martyniki ma większość w zgromadzeniu regionalnym. Partia ma również jednego deputowanego we francuskim Zgromadzeniu Narodowym XIII kadencji. Należy on do klubu Gauche démocrate et républicaine tworzonego głównie przez Zielonych i komunistów. Partia wydaje dziennik "La Parole au Peuple".
