Mark Richard Crawford Payne is an English former footballer who played as a midfielder. Payne started his playing career with his hometown team Cheltenham Town, progressing from the youth team, where he played in the club's FA Youth Cup team that eventually went out to Coventry City, to play in the first team. He was released by Cheltenham and went to work at a post office and continued playing for Ledbury Town until he was offered the chance to play in the Netherlands for Cambuur.
