Sergio Leone's 1964 production A Fistful of Dollars showcases her alongside Clint Eastwood as a civilian tormented by local ruthless gangsters, divided between her husband and child. In Germany she was probably most liked for her many years of participation in the highly popular tv game show Was bin ich which run from the 1950s until 1988 and rated up to 75% at its peak. Beginning with 1971 she resumed her medical studies she commenced in the early 1950s. She got her MD in 1974 and practiced until 1997 as specialist in Munich. In 1976 she was one of the initial hosts of Germany's pioneering tv chat show 3 nach 9, for which she was given one of the most authoritative awards of the German tv industry, the Grimme Preis. She also hosted other tv chats and had her medical advice programme on radio. In 1953 she married the physician Gerhard Freund with whom she has two sons. The marriage ended in 1973 after Freund entered an affair with 1956 Miss World Petra Schürmann, whom he later wed . Marianne Koch was in a relationship with the publicist Peter Hamm from the mid 1980s until 2003.
