Marcelino Bernal Pérez (born May 27, 1962 in Tepic) is a retired Mexican football midfielder. A talented all-around midfielder, able to win possession effectively as well as score goals, Bernal spent most of his club career with Puebla and Toluca. He won two championships, with Puebla in 1990 and with Pachuca in 1999. He ended his top-flight career with UNAM in 2001.

He got 65 caps and 5 goals for the Mexican national team between 1988 and 1998, and he participated at the World Cups in 1994 and 1998. Bernal's career developed at a relatively late stage, and he earned 58 of his 65 caps at the age of 30 or older. At the 1994 World Cup he scored a fantastic goal in the game against Italy, but he was best known for the Mexico-Bulgaria second-round game in which he cleared a shot from Krassimir Balakov, but in doing so, he fell on the net and snapped the post, causing the goal to cave in. After an eight-minute delay, a new net was brought in and play resumed. Mexico would eventually lose in a penalty shootout, in which Bulgaria goalkeeper Borislav Mikhailov saved Bernal's attempt.

Hizo su debut jugando para Los Coras del Deportivo Tepic de la entónces Segunda División, hoy Liga de Ascenso de México. Posteriormente jugó con equipos de la Primera division mexicana como Cruz Azul, Puebla FC donde fue campeón en 1990, Deportivo Toluca, Monterrey, Pachuca CF donde fue campeón en 1999, y los Pumas de la UNAM; participó en la Copa Mundial de Estados Unidos 1994 destacándose en la media cancha de la Selección Mexicana de Futbol y recordado por anotarle gol a Italia en 1994. Sus virtudes dentro de la cancha era la fuerza, la movilidad y la recuperación de balones asimismo una de sus mayores cualidades fue la de su potente disparo de larga distancia, se retiró en el año 2002 tras más de 20 años como futbolista profesional y con 65 participaciones en selección mayor así como 5 goles con la misma y con 2 campeonatos de liga conseguidos. Actualmente dirige a los renacientes Coras del Deportivo Tepic FC de la Liga Premier de Ascenso.
