It initially focused on industrial automation and robotics, and today continues to supply automated systems as part of a broader range of products. As of 2011, its automation business units are focused on systems for the production of printed circuit boards, packaging and carbide cutting tools. Manz has developed a significant presence in the solar power industry, which is the firm's largest business segment by revenue as of the first quarter of 2011. Its activities in this sector focus on the development and supply of integrated systems for the production of silicon solar cells and thin-film modules.
