About: Manea railway station

Manea railway station, on the line between Peterborough and Ely, serves the village of Manea in Cambridgeshire, England. During the Beeching era, Doctor Beeching himself refused to close Manea station, due to "the acute social hardship this would cause". One of the peculiarities of the post-privatised railway is that Manea is operated by National Express East Anglia, despite its not running any services from the station. A similar situation exists at Lockerbie.
