After performing professionally since the age of 12, she co-founded WCE Records in 2004 off the heels of her premiere calendar release in 2003. The cross marketing of the calendar "Spend 12 Months With Malina Moye: Hot Fun in California Sun" with her single "Girlfriend" caught the attention of radio and critics alike, who dubbed Malina as a Madonna-like ingénue of marketing. This helped to land her on the R&B Hip-Hop Sales Billboard Charts at number 48 for one week. Moye's next single "Alone” released independently earned its way onto the Billboard charts for more than 15 weeks, peaking at number 11 on the R&B Hip-Hop single sales,, number 93 on the Hot R&B Airplay charts, and number 27 on the Hot 100 Sales charts. She has appeared on national TV shows like Weekends at the D.L. , Emeril Live and morning shows such as "Good Morning Chicago" and "Showcase Minnesota. " In 2007, Moye was featured in the UK documentary "Stratmaster: The greatest Guitar Story Ever Told", alongside guitar legends Robert Cray, Mark Knopfler, and the late Jimi Hendrix, Moye has also been seen on the catwalk and on the silver screen. In May 2008, Malina co-headlined at the Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival in Australia with the country's platinum blues, rock group Black Sorrows. With her unorthodox style, Moye received an invite to appear at the Robert Johnson Blues Festival as the only female singer, lefty guitarist on the roster, sharing the stage with last living blues legends David Honeyboy Edwards, Hubert Sumlin, and Pinetop Perkins. In the latter part of 2008 and early 2009, Malina Moye supported Robin Thicke and Boys II Men on several US dates. Along with playing at other notable festivals around the world, Moye serves as an ambassador to HRH Prince Charles' The Prince's Trust, to which she donated her song "Hustler's Blues" to the trust-supported, charitable Wilberforce compilation record released in 2008 on AMD/Universal Music.
