Gen. Maha Thiha Thura is the Konbaung-era general who defeated Manchu Qing invasions of Burma (1765-1769), and is one of the most famous generals in Burmese history. The general was the kingmaker who placed his son-in-law to the Burmese throne as King Singu (r. 1776-1782), following the death of King Hsinbyushin. The famous general was executed for treason by King Bodawpaya (1782-1819).
