Magyar Posta (Hungarian for "Hungarian Post") is the postal administration of Hungary. The first stamp printed by Magyar Posta, then Magyar Királyi Posta (Hungarian Royal Post), was issued in 1871. Two sets of six different values on stamps featuring Ferenc József (Franz Joseph) were released, one engraved, the other, lithographed. Many stamps have since been issued, in the early 20th century they mainly depicted the mythical "Turul" or Hungary's first king, St. Stephen.
