- The Ma'ayanot Yeshiva High School is a private Jewish day school for girls in grades nine through twelve, located in Teaneck, New Jersey, United States. Ma'ayanot was founded to meet the need of the Orthodox communities of Bergen County and neighboring areas for a conveniently located and academically excellent high school for girls. The school's primary goal is to create a caring, inspiring, and academically stimulating environment for the religious, intellectual and personal growth of each of its students. The school aims to inculcate values of Ahavat Torah and Yirat Shamayim (fear of God) into every aspect of our school. In an atmosphere of mutual respect between staff and students, the school is committed to helping young women learn to take themselves seriously as Avodat Hashem (God's creations), as women, as thinking, capable, caring, and sensitive human beings. As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 175 students and 22.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 8.0. In 2006, a group of students frustrated with the overwhelming changes made at the school in the past two years created an underground newspaper expressing those frustrations. The Alternate Source
