Like the other digital MTV/VH1 channels, MTV Hits is based on an automated wheel schedule introduced in the first years of MTV2. The loop repeats three times a day, starting at 6am Eastern, and then resetting at 2pm and 10pm. The network's logo has remained the same since the date of launch, with a minor readjustment in February 2010 of the iconic "M" to remove the Music Television tagline and a small quarter of the logo in line with the official rebranding of all MTV networks.

Der Sender wird trotz seiner inhaltlichen Ausrichtung auf Großbritannien europaweit vermarktet. Dazu gehören Länder wie Frankreich, Irland, Polen, Rumänien, Ungarn oder die Benelux-Staaten. In Deutschland erfolgt die Verbreitung über das sogenannte MTV Tune Inn-Paket via Satellit oder direkt im Kabel.
