Lucia Aliberti is a prominent Sicilian soprano opera singer. She is much appreciated for her performances of the bel canto roles of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti. A dramatic soprano of vocal agility, Lucia Aliberti was awarded a diploma with full marks from the Conservatory while still very young. She then completed her studies in Rome with Maestro Luigi Ricci and continued the study with Alfredo Kraus. She is considered one of the most complete artists of the new generation. Musician and composer, while studying singing, she was also studying the piano and other musical instruments (guitar, accordion, violin, mandolin). She has composed many pieces for piano, clarinet, flut and singing. She began her artistic career in Spoleto at the "Festival dei Due Mondi", under the direction of Giancarlo Menotti and Raffaello de Banfield. She has sung in the world's major theatres: Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Washington Opera, Covent Garden in London, the Deutsche Oper of Berlin, the Munich State Opera, the Hamburg State Opera, the Staatstheater in Stuttgart, the Tonhalle Dusseldorf, Oper der Stadt Koln, Konzerthaus Die Glocke Bremen, Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Staatsoper Vien, Graz, Gebow in Amsterdam, the Scala in Milan, Rome the Opera Theatre, the S. She is considered a specialist in the repertory od Vincenzo Bellini (she has also dedicated intense study to some of his manuscripts). The other most important composer in her repertory are Donizetti, Rossini and Verdi. Several operas of these composers have become her most successful roles: Lucia di Lammermoor,Anna Bolena, Lucrezia Borgia Beatrice di Tenda, Norma,Sonnambula,I Puritani, Il Pirata, La Straniera, Semiramide,Il Trovatore, La Traviata. Lucia Aliberti is a requested artists for international gala concerts. She sung for Its Holiness Pope Wojtila celebrating the Jubilee of the Family in Piazza San Peter with worldwide tv- broadcast and at Nervi Hall (Vatican) a concert for the Immaculate Mary; she has been the guest star at “Cinema for Peace” during the Berlin Film Festival; for Prince Charles of England in Paris at the Auditorium of the United Nations; for Aga Kahn; the German Chancellors Helmut Kohl and Gerhard Schröder; for the Royal Family of Liege; for the Royal Family of Holland; for the Prince of Japan Hiro (in Tokyo a restaurant is named after her “Restaurant Lucia”). Also Galas for Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, FIAT, at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monte Carlo, for UNICEF and UNESCO. Lucia Aliberti sung at Sporting Club in Monte Carlo in a special gala in honour of S.A.S. Prince Albert of Monaco. She performed in honour of the German President Horst Kohler at the Presidential residence “Schloss Bellevue”. Lucia Aliberti has received two prestigious European Prizes: The “Goldene Feder” in Hamburg in May 2006 and the “Premio Callas” from the Association of Opera Friends of Milan in December 2006. Her discography includes Beatrice di Tenda, Il Pirata, La Sonnambula, La Straniera and La Traviata. And the recitals "A Portrait" and "Viva! Belcanto" on SonyBMG. - Lucia Aliberti ist eine italienische Opernsängerin insbesondere des Belcanto-Fachs und Giuseppe Verdis. Aliberti studierte Klavier, Komposition, Dirigieren und Gesang am Konservatorium in Messina (wo sie mit Bestnoten abschloß) und danach in Rom bei Luigi Ricci und Alfredo Kraus. Sie gewann die italienischen Gesangswettbewerbe ENAL (Ente Nazionale Assistenza Lavoratori) 1977 und den von Spoleto 1978, wo sie gleichzeitig auf dem Festival di due Mondi mit „La sonnambula“ von Bellini ein gefeiertes Debüt hatte. 1983 debütierte sie in der Mailänder Scala als Nanetta in Verdis Falstaff und 1983 an der Deutschen Oper in Berlin mit Donizettis „Lucia di Lammermoor“, wo sie seitdem regelmäßig auftrat. Die Lucia blieb ihre Paraderolle. 1985 debütierte sie in dieser Rolle auch in Covent Garden und 1988 an der Metropolitan Opera in New York. Ebenfalls 1988 ging sie mit der Mailänder Produktion von Bellinis „I Capuleti ed i Montecchi“ auf Japan-Tournee. 1999 ging sie auf Deutschland Tournee und sang 2001/2 Donizettis „Anna Bolena“ in der Deutschen Oper in Berlin. Sie singt häufig in Belcanto-Konzertabenden und auf Gala-Abenden. 2006 erhielt sie die „Goldene Feder“ und im selben Jahr den „Premio Callas“ in Mailand. Aliberti spielt auch Gitarre, Akkordeon, Violine und Mandoline und komponierte für Klavier, Klarinette, Flöte und Gesang.

Viene notata da Herbert von Karajan che la ascolta a Berlino in un'appassionata Lucia di Lammermoor e si invaghisce della sua voce e con lei lavora per due anni tra Berlino e Salisburgo. La sua opera preferita è la Beatrice di Tenda di Bellini, suo compositore prediletto.
