Major General Sir Lovick Bransby Friend KBE, CB, PC was a British Army major general and cricketer. He became Commander-in-Chief, Ireland. He was on leave in England during the Easter Rising. Friend was a right-handed batsman and occasional wicket-keeper who played for both Kent and the MCC. He also played football and played in goal for the Royal Engineers in the 1878 FA Cup Final.
