Notable film roles include: Mr. Van Daan in The Diary of Anne Frank, Moustache in Irma La Douce, a transvestite husband in Woody Allen's Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex (But Were Afraid to Ask), playing Kurt Gödel in I.Q. , and one of the uncles in Barry Levinson's Avalon. In Amazon Women on the Moon, his character is sucked into his television by a remote control (similar to the film Pleasantville). He also played in the movie "Penelope" (1966) with Natalie Wood and Ian Bannen. He made a spoof record album for Capitol Records called Al Tijuana and his Jewish Brass in he which he acted as a master of ceremonies/bandleader of dance band that plays songs such as "Downtown.
