It has a 1,319 m (4,330 ft) main runway. Historically dominated by pilot training, in 2008, flying activity fell to just 48,000 movements, the lowest level on record and a 70% decline in 10 years. With a permitted capacity of 160,000 movements a year, Oxford once had the busiest runway in the world in the 1960s. Oxford (Kidlington) Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P810) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Oxford Aviation Services Limited).
