Locomotion No. 1 (originally known as the Active) is an early British steam locomotive. Built by George and Robert Stephenson's company Robert Stephenson and Company in 1825, it hauled the first train on the Stockton and Darlington Railway on 27 September 1825.

C'est une des premières locomotives à opter pour ce mode de couplage de préférence aux chaînes ou engrenages des premières 020. En 1828 la chaudière explosa tuant le chauffeur. Reconstruite, elle poursuivit sa carrière de locomotive jusqu'en 1841 puis comme moteur statique jusqu'en 1857. Une réplique est exposée au Beamish Museum.
