Live at the Fillmore East is a posthumous live album by Jimi Hendrix released on February 23, 1999. The album documents Hendrix's performances with the Band of Gypsys at the Fillmore East on December 31, 1969 and January 1, 1970. It is drawn from the same performances as, and can be seen as an extended alternative to, the Band of Gypsies album.

Certains regrettèrent aussitôt la forme choisie : un double album et non un coffret 6 CD retraçant l’intégralité des 4 concerts. On peut penser qu'une telle décision aurait été regrettable : le matériel enregistré alors ne justifiait pas la publication de l’intégralité des bandes. Le Live At The Fillmore East est à ce titre édifiant : si le premier CD est absolument remarquable, le second est loin de respecter les critères de qualité qu’on est en droit d’attendre d’un album de Jimi Hendrix. Le choix des titres opéré par Experience Hendrix LLC aurait pu légèrement améliorer la donne, mais il n’en demeure pas moins que si le matériel inédit justifiait la publication d’un autre Live du Band Of Gypsys, l’option d’un simple album aurait sans doute été plus respectueuse de l’œuvre du guitariste. Quitte à proposer l’intégralité des 4 concerts via Dagger Records…
