- This is a list of the current channels available from Virgin Media through their Virgin TV service, those coming in the future and those that have left. Launch and removal dates are shown from when ntl:Telewest was rebranded as Virgin Media on 8 February 2007, onwards. There is currently a total of 301 radio and television channels available on the Virgin Media TV network, of which there are 38 radio channels, 34 timeshift channels, 7 local channels and 37 high-definition channels. There are 2 channels exclusive to the ex-Telewest legacy network. This means that of the 301 channels, there are up to 292 channels available to all customers and an additional 9 channels available depending on the customers location and legacy network. High-definition channels are only available to customers with either a V HD set-top box or a V+ or TiVo personal video recorder. High-definition versions of Sky Movies and Sky Sports require a HD Sub. There are currently 121 radio and television channels in the M TV package, 146 channels in the M+ TV package, 187 channels in the L TV package and 243 channels in the XL TV package. In addition there are 24 premium subscription movie channels, 3 premium subscription adult channels, 10 premium subscription sports channels (3 ESPN channels are also available as subscription channels to non-XL TV customers), 11 premium subscription international channels and 2 premium subscription kids channels. There are also 8 pay-per-view adult channels and 1 pay-per-view event channel. There are currently 72 channels in the Entertainment category, 23 channels in the Factual category, 16 Channels in the Lifestyle category, 16 channels in the Music category, 31 channels in the Movies category, 12 channels in the Adult category, 23 channels in the Sport category, 8 channels in the News category, 21 channels in the Kids category, 8 channels in the Shopping category, 12 channels in the International category, 18 channel in the Regional and Audio Description category, 38 channels in the Radio category and 2 channels in the Help & Information category. The most recent channel to launch was Red Hot 18s on channel 480 on 1 June 2012.
