The first tankōbon was released on August 1999 and the last one was released on April 17, 2007. On February from 2009, Kodansha published a one-shot chapter from the series in their Magazine Special journal. The first fourteen volumes of the manga series were adapted into a forty-nine episode anime series by Studio Deen. The anime series, which premiered on Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) on October 5, 2002 to September 20, 2003. GetBackers is licensed for an English language release in North America by Tokyo Pop and currently twenty-four volumes have been released, with the first being released on February 10, 2004 and the twenty-five being released on July 7, 2008. Starting from volume 26, the manga is named GetBackers: Infinity Fortress, and the numbers start from 1.
