Lindesnes is a municipality in the county of Vest-Agder, Norway. Lindesnes was created as a new municipality on 1 January 1964 after the merger of the older municipalities of Spangereid, Sør-Audnedal, and Vigmostad. It is a coastal municipality, with a long stretch of coastline to the south. It also borders Audnedal municipality to the north, Lyngdal to the west, and Mandal and Marnardal to the east. The lighthouse of Lindesnes stands on the southernmost point of the mainland of Norway.

  • Lindesnes ist eine Kommune in der Provinz Vest-Agder in Norwegen. Die Kommune hat etwa 90 Kilometer Küstenlinie. Lindesnes liegt in etwa auf dem gleichen Breitengrad wie Nord-Schottland. Lindesnes entstand 1964 durch die Zusammenlegung der bis dahin eigenständigen Kommunen Spangereid, Vigmostad und Sør-Audnedal. Die größte Stadt in Lindesnes ist Vigeland, welche mit etwa 1.200 Einwohnern gleichzeitig das kommunalpolitische Zentrum ist. Bekannt ist die Kommune vor allem durch das Kap Lindesnes, den südlichsten Punkt Norwegens. Bis zum Nordkap sind es vom Kap Lindesnes 1.682 km Luftlinie. Dort liegt auch der südlichste Sandstrand Norwegens und das Lindesnes fyr, das älteste Leuchtfeuer des Landes (erbaut 1655). Der heutige Leuchtturm stammt aus dem Jahre 1915. In der unmittelbaren Umgebung des Leuchtturms befinden sich zahlreiche gut erhaltene Bunkeranlagen aus dem zweiten Weltkrieg, die größtenteils frei begehbar sind. Eine weitere Sehenswürdigkeit ist die Galerie des Bildhauers Gustav Vigeland.
