Lynch also made the album Fake Songs, released in 2003, produced by his own company, 111 Productions. This album featured the song "United States of Whatever", which charted in the Top 10 in the United Kingdom and Australia. It is one of the shortest songs to get to the Top 10 in both countries. The song did get Lynch a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for shortest UK song to go top ten. Liam Lynch is also known for directing music videos. He's worked with Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, Spinnerette, and No Doubt. In 2003 he directed the UK music video for the Foo Fighters single "Times Like These", although it was rarely played in the United States. He finished shooting the film Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny in July 2005, and he worked with Tenacious D in 2002 on directing the video to the song Tribute, their most popular hit. He also directed several short films that played as part of their live show, as well as a documentary called "On The Road with Tenacious D" which was a featured part of their DVD collection, "The Complete Masterworks". He directed Sarah Silverman's movie, Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic as well as a music video for Silverman called "Give the Jew Girl Toys". He wrote the original music used in the MTV animated series Clone High and co-wrote a song in the feature film, School of Rock. Lynch has an ongoing podcast available through his website that contains skits, videos he has created, and answering viewer mail.

Midden jaren 90 besloten Lynch en Crocco hun sokpoppen weer een kans te geven. In 1996 stuurden ze een aantal opnames naar MTV Europe. Daar waren ze enthousiast en het tweetal kreeg een eigen show. Ook de Amerikaanse tak van MTV nam de serie over in juli 1998 waar hij twee seizoen draaide. Er waren nog plannen om een derde serie op het internet uit te brengen, maar dat ging niet meer door. Het nieuwe millennium was echter geen bodemloze put voor Lynch. Een nummer van Sifl en Olly, United States Of Whatever, werd steeds vaker gedraaid op de Amerikaanse radio en werd het meest aangevraagde nummer op de zender KROQ uit Los Angeles. In die periode was Lynch ook bezig met het uitbrengen van een cd met nummers van de sokpoppen en andere parodieën. In april 2003 werd het album Fake Songs zowel op cd als dvd uitgebracht. Daarnaast werd hij binnengehaald door de productiemaatschappij van Ben Stiller om een film met Tenacious D te maken. Eerder had hij voor dat duo de clip van Tribute geregisseerd alsook de korte videoclips die te zien waren tijdens de concert-tour van Tenacious D.
