Grensen mellom Leith og Edinburgh (mot øst) gikk opprinnelig midt i Leith Walk. De som bodde vest for gaten Leith Walk, bodde i Leith, mens de som bodde øst for Leith Walk, bodde i Edinburgh. Ett hundre meter før Duke Street (som forbinder Leith Walk i nord med Hermitage Place i øst ved parken Leith Links) gikk grensen så rett mot øst, slik at også de som bor øst for Leith Walk, nærmere enn ett hundre meter fra Duke Street, bodde i Leith. Med andre ord var det lenge bare den nordligste delen av Easter Road som tilhørte byen Leith. I dag har det britiske postvesenet (Royal Mail) laget en ny postgrense mellom Edinburgh (EH6) og Leith.
