Lee Dorman is an American bass guitarist best known as a member of the rock band Iron Butterfly. He also played in the band Captain Beyond. Dorman is from St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to San Diego, California in the 1960s. He began playing bass guitar in his teens. Dorman's performances were both musically and physically powerful, with his bass slashing the air, his feet pounding the stage and his bass notes forward in the music played by both bands.

One note of interest: in the late 1960's, Lee Dorman the disc jockey played Lee Dorman the bassist's records on the radio.
