| - Le Point (ISSN 0242-6005) is a French weekly news magazine. It was founded in 1972 by a group of journalists who had, one year earlier, left the editorial team of L'Express, which was then owned by Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber, a député of the Parti Radical. The editorial team of spring 1972 found financial backing with group Hachette and was then directed by Claude Imbert. Other journalists making up the team were: Jacques Duquesne, Henri Trinchet, Pierre Billard, Robert Franc, Georges Suffert. Management included Olivier Chevrillon, Pdg and Philippe Ramond. The weekly magazine recruited journalists from the Parisian press and relied on its ability to redefine the genre. It modelled itself closely on magazines owned by News Magazine: Time Magazine and Newsweek. After a fairly difficult start in September 1972, the magazine quickly challenged L'Express. It has changed ownership several times: from Gaumont, and Alcatel it is currently owned by Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, a French multinational holding founded and owned by the billionaire businessman François Pinault. - Le Point est un magazine hebdomadaire français d'information générale, un magazine d'actualité hebdomadaire, ou selon l'expression internationalement admise, un "news magazine", dont la ligne éditoriale se situe plutôt à droite du centre (à considérer ses prises de position). Son modèle générique est celui du magazine américain Time Magazine, inventé par Henry Luce dans les années 1920, ou de son confrère Newsweek. Le magazine ouvre ses pages à toutes les opinions politiques (interviews, analyses..). Son premier numéro a été publié le 25 septembre 1972. Son PDG actuel, directeur de la publication est Franz-Olivier Giesbert ancien directeur de la rédaction du Nouvel Observateur puis du Figaro. (fr)

Det ble grunnlagt i 1972 av en gruppe journalister som ett år tidligere hadde forlatt redaksjonen i tidsskriftet L'Express, som var eid av Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber, député (medlem av Frankrikes nasjonalforsamling) for Parti Radical. Le Point la seg nær opptil de engelskspråklige tidsskriftene Time Magazine og Newsweek. Etter en temmelig vanskelig start i september 1972, ble det snart en betydelig konkurrent til L'Express. Tidsskriftet har skiftet eiere flere ganger, i dag eies det av Pinault-Printemps-Redoute til François Pinault. (no)
- Le Point - francuski tygodnik założony w 1972 roku przez byłych dziennikarzy tygodnika L'Express którzy odeszli z redakcji czasopisma po tym jak Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber objął funkcję przewodniczącego Socjalistycznej Partii Radykalnej. Redaktorem naczelnym tygodnika jest Franz-Olivier Giesbert natomiast czasopismo należy do grupy PPR której właścicielem jest francuski miliarder, François Pinault. Siedziba dziennika mieści się w Paryżu, zatrudnionych jest tam większość dziennikarzy współpracujących i redagujących dla Le Point. Obecnie średni nakład tygodnika wynosi ponad 444 000 egzemplarzy.
