Le Chant des Wallons (The Song of the Walloons) is the anthem of Wallonia. The original words, written in Walloon as Li Tchant des Walons by Théophile Bovy in 1900, were in 1901 set to music composed by Louis Hillier. Performed for the first time in the city of Liège, the song quickly spread to other parts of French-speaking Belgium and established itself as a "national" anthem for Wallonia.

When, on 15 July 1998, the Walloon Parliament approved a law defining the official symbols of the Walloon Region (flag, anthem, and "national" day), it was a French version of Li Tchant des Walons that was chosen. However, the lyrics adopted on that occasion are not a direct translation of the original: the number and order of verses differ, and they diverge significantly from the original Walloon text in places.

La chanson débute sa carrière à Liège mais son succès se répand assez vite à l'ensemble de la Wallonie et est de plus en plus chanté en tant qu'hymne de la Wallonie. Lorsqu'en 1998 le Parlement wallon fixe les emblèmes officiels pour la Wallonie (drapeau, hymne, fête) c'est le Chant des Wallons qui fut choisi après bien des débats, et des propositions telle la Marseillaise (historiquement et spontanément utilisée dans nombre de manifestations), le Valeureux Liégeois ou Li Bia Bouquet. Après le choix, des paroles en français furent composées pour la circonstance. Les opposants au choix de l'hymne de Bovy lui ont reproché la mièvrerie des paroles et son manque de cohérence historique, choses dues à une mauvaise traduction en français. Il a détrôné la Marche officielle de la Wallonie, du compositeur wasmois Fernand Carion (1907-1960), qui avait remporté un concours en 1953.
