During the tour, the band visited Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Coldplay announced on December 1st, 2006 a "Latin American tour" would begin in early 2007.

Having received such a phenomenal response to their last visit to Latin American in September 2003, The band decided to visit Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, playing at much smaller capacity venues than on their recent Twisted Logic Tour, which had finished in July 2006.
