Lars Jamel Tate (born February 2, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana), is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2nd round of the 1988 NFL Draft. Tate attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was named the 1985 Gatorade National High School Offensive Player of the Year. Tate played college football for the University of Georgia and led the team in rushing during the 1987 and 1988 seasons.

His son, Donavan Tate, was drafted 3rd overall in the 2009 MLB draft.
