In the neighbourhood fruit and cider are produced, and there are important coal mines, foundries, and factories for the manufacture of coarse cloth. In the past, it was one of the most important mining and metallurgical points of Spain, and also it was well know beacuse of workers struggles and culture.

- Langreo est une municipalité située au nord de l'Espagne, dans la Principauté des Asturies. Au Modèle:XIXe siècle Langreo a été l'un des grands noyaux nationaux de l'activité sidérurgique. De nombreuses compagnies ce sont installées, dont Duro-Felguera, principalement dans la ville de La Felguera, et a compté avec la troisième ligne du chemin de fer construite en Espagne (ligne de chemin de fer Sama-Gijón). A la fin du XXème siècle le déclin de l'industrie minière a été accompagné par le démantèlement du tissu industriel du métal. De nos jours, l'objectif est de récupérer le patrimoine architectonique riche qu'a laissé l'industrie. En même temps de grands efforts sont consentis par la municipalité pour l'implantation d'entreprises du monde des nouvelles technologies (Cap-Gémini pour n'en citer qu'une). Il reste cependant quelque mines d'extraction de charbon encore en fonctionnement. Un grand centre technologique est mis à disposition des "nouvelles" industries, il s'agit du centre de "Valnalón" anciennement grand site sidérurgique et dont la tour de refroidissement représente le symbole du temps passé. Il s'agit de la cinquième municipalité des Asturies en termes de population avec habitants. Elle est composée des paroisses ou localités de La Felguera (habitants), Sama (habitants), Riaño, Ciaño, Lada, Barros et Tuilla. A La Felguera se situe le Musée de l'industrie de sidérurgique.
