Lake Harney, named for General William Selby Harney, is a lake located in Volusia and Seminole and Counties, Florida, and is part of the course of the St. Johns River. The lake is nominally freshwater, however salt springs in the area can at times cause the water to be somewhat brackish, allowing the growth of salt-tolerant vegetation and organisms not found elsewhere along the St. Johns River.
