Laiuse Romani was a Romani variety spoken in northern Estonia. It was a mixed language based on Romani and Estonian. Laiuse Romani shares a number of linguistic features with Finnish Romani, such as palatalization of velar consonants before front vowels and initial devoicing. Laiuse Romani became extinct in World War II, when all its speakers were killed under the Nazis' anti-Romani racial policy, now called the Porajmos.
