Teilweise wird auch das Jahr 1937 als Jahr der Erstbesteigung angegeben, als die beiden Bergsteiger Freddie Spencer Chapman und Pasang Dawa Lama im Rahmen einer britischen Expedition den Gipfel von Bhutan aus über den Südost-Sporn erstiegen haben sollen.
