Kortgene is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Noord-Beveland, and lies about 15 km northeast of Middelburg. Kortgene received city rights in 1431. It was also the name of a municipality containing nearby villages Colijnsplaat and Kats until 1995, when it merged with municipality Wissenkerke into the new municipality of Noord-Beveland. In 2001, the village of Kortgene had 1188 inhabitants.
