About: Koji Yamamoto (baseball)

Kōji Yamamoto (山本 浩二, Yamamoto Kōji, born October 25, 1946) is a former Japanese baseball player and manager of the Hiroshima Carp of Japan's Central League. He was nicknamed Mr. Aka-heru. He was born in Saeki, Hiroshima. He is known as the "Mr. Red Helmet" because he was the star baseball player of Hiroshima Carp, and "red" is the color of the team. He led his team into five Japan Series and winning three titles (1979, 1980 and 1984).
