He is best known for playing Brian Blair in Take the High Road in the 1980s but he also played Ralph Lancaster in Coronation Street from 1975- 13 February 1980. He was booked to play a Farmer in Doctor Who: The Time Monster but was replaced by George Lee. He had 2 children Kate and Jamie and a wife Joan
