- Keith Patrick is an actor and film maker with a background that has included a number of independently produced films. 'Work is Pointless’, a Short film telling it’s story in reverse, opened Warner Bros. the Science of Sleep premier at County Limerick’s Belltable Arts Centre, for part of a short and brief initiative bringing together the finest talent from Short film makers across Europe. New York City’s White Rabbit Bar also presented it by invitation. A Film Short, Tolerance -- that Keith Patrick scripted, produced and acted for -- which examines some of the elements of an ultimately destructive relationship of codependence -- received a “Highly Recommended” Commendation by the Leicester International Short Film Festival, being one of the best 40 films seen there in November 2007. A sports performance history includes time spent as a Wrestler in the IWF Independent. The IWFI is a touring company of Wrestlers in England who are trained in choreographed fighting techniques. It was in the early formative days during the time it was managed and promoted by the martial arts entrepreneur Peter Wilson, that Keith was ’Rico Sanchez’ whose wrestling motif took inspiration from Spanish Bullfighting. Already trained to Degree level in Performing Arts, Keith was taught Commedia technique by one of Dario Fo’s protégé’s, Antonio Venturino, a highly skilled practitioner of Commedia dell Arte, and was directed by him in a staged production of Aristophanes ‘The Birds. ’ Later, he sought training from Mel Churcher, the respected acting coach for who’s a frequent collaborator on Luc Besson’s films. Featuring in the Last Coiner, an independently published graphic novel, Keith appeared as David Hawksworth—a character based on a forger from King George III’s England of the 1770s, "King" David Hartley whose descendents live to this day—he also contributed to and starred in the docu-drama of the same which has had a special advance showing at the Hebden Bridge Picture House with anticipation of a successive feature movie. Doorstopper, a.k.a. Door Stop, an installation film that was most recently requested for a presention to the public by the Athens Video Art Festival 2009, who projected it on to film venues at the site in Greece. Formerly, the same has been presented similarly at Newcastle upon Tyne’s Odeon Cinema and at the Sky Bar, in conjunction with the British Art Show 6, and since then at varied venues over Europe, and also the Artists Independent Network in Texas, USA. The film was designed around the body language of a City Centre Doorman, or otherwise Nightclub bouncer, regarding the inner-psychology of that line of work. It is a silent piece that complemented Keith’s talent for Commedia dell Italiana, and his past experience as a Nightclub bouncer, and bodyguard. An earlier film short called Brass featured Keith as Mr McQueen, an enforcer/ debt collector/ bare knuckle fighter who “gets his hands dirty” for his employer Mr Newman, a shady owner of a nightclub. Keith also wrote for the film and designed it’s fight choreography. First showing at the Bradford Film Festival, the film took it’s next in the Mike Figgis Digital Lounge in Newcastle upon Tyne.
