Kate Bohner (born April 14, 1967, in Wilmington, Delaware) is an American journalist and writer. Bohner's father was an English literature professor which led her to spend some of her early years living in Europe. She attended the Wilmington Friends School, graduating after her Junior year.

After studying business and international studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1988, Bohner began her career in the mergers and acquisitions department at investment bank Lazard. After she left Lazard, she attended athe Columbia University School of Journalism, where she received a Reader's Digest Literary Foundation Fellowship, graduating in 1993. In the mid-1990s, she was briefly married to Michael Lewis, the bestselling author of Liar's Poker and was also friends with Candace Bushnell while Bushnell was writing Sex and the City. The sexually adventurous character of Samantha Jones is rumored to be based on Bohner. She co-authored Donald Trump's 1997 book Trump: Art of the Comeback, and was a writer for Forbes Magazine and a correspondent for CNBC. In 2001, she was the lead market correspondent for E*Trade's start-up financial-news effort, a six-day per week webcast from New York City. She currently resides in the Los Angeles area and is the Founder/Executive Producer of KBTVonline. She dates the married CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt.
